      <image:title>Welcome to Scotland</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m Hannah Mackay Tait, a Blue Badge Guide with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association. That means I’m qualified to show you the entire country, whether you’re planning a tour in Edinburgh for an afternoon or the trip of a lifetime around the Scottish Highlands. I’d love to be a part of your adventure. I especially enjoy helping people to discover forgotten stories and hidden gems. As well as guiding private group tours in Scotland, I run Edinburgh walking tours exploring Scottish LGBTQ+ history and women’s history. I love bringing different aspects of the past to light, so I’d love to help if you’re looking for a private tour on a topic that’s important to you. Get in touch about private tours, join me on a public walking tour, or download my audio tour of Edinburgh’s queer history. I hope to welcome you to Scotland soon! Hannah</image:caption>

      <image:title>Meet Hannah - Hi, I’m Hannah Mackay Tait</image:title>
<image:caption>I was born and raised in Edinburgh, and studied French and Theatre Studies at the University of Glasgow. My mum’s side of the family is from the far north of Scotland, so my childhood summer holidays were often spent roaming the Highlands, and I’ve felt a deep love for Scotland for as long as I can remember. When I realised I could be a tour guide and show people around my amazing homeland, it was the perfect fit! I trained on the Blue Badge course with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association from 2014–16, and I fell in love with the job. For over five years now, I’ve been helping tourists to discover Scotland. It’s amazing to be part of people’s adventures, whether it’s an Edinburgh walking tour to kick off their journey or joining them for a week-long private tour of the Highlands. I’ve worked with clients from all over the world, from Saudi Arabia to Argentina, and with both individuals and large groups. Whoever you are and wherever you’re joining us from, I look forward to welcoming you and showing you the best that Scotland has to offer. I’m passionate about uncovering forgotten stories and showing my groups a different side of Scotland, from LGBTQ+ history to women’s history and social change through the ages. If you have a special interest, I’d love to help you explore it while you’re here! Hannah</image:caption>

      <image:title>Walking Tours - Scottish Women’s History</image:title>
<image:caption>Join me for a 90-minute walk through the Old Town to learn about the women who’ve shaped Edinburgh through the ages. From the religious rebels of the 1600s to a pioneering Scottish-Nigerian doctor who fought for equal rights in the 1930s, the city is packed with stories of women who made their mark. We’ll start on Edinburgh Castle esplanade and walk through the Royal Mile and the historic university area to explore the stories of women who changed our skyline and our society forever. Discover prosperous merchants, brave war medics, determined suffrage activists and more, with a walking tour that uncovers the hidden half of history. <image:title>Walking Tours - Edinburgh’s Queer History</image:title>
<image:caption>Join me for a 90-minute walk through Edinburgh’s Old Town to discover the city’s hidden queer history. From 17th-century royal love stories to ground-breaking lesbian doctors in the Victoria era, Edinburgh has centuries of stories to explore. Starting on Edinburgh Castle esplanade, we’ll walk through the historic Royal Mile and Edinburgh University area to uncover tales of 19th-century trans pioneers, activist queer booksellers, and even a brave gay Scot who challenged Stalin over queer rights in the 1930s. See where the first openly LGBTQ+ social events took place in Edinburgh and hear the story of how the community pushed back against persecution in an era when homosexuality was against the law. Currently available to book as a private tour, but look out for more public dates later in the year!</image:caption>
